When the credits roll…. Wait. What does that person do?!
The entertainment industry is fueled by thousands of people you've likely never heard of. Everything you see and hear in a movie or television series has been created, crafted and executed by a fleet of talent both on and off the screen. Though many may be invisible to the common eye, the content we consume could not exist without them. Get to know the grips, best boys, intimacy coordinators, sustainability stewards, gaffers, loggers and much, much more. Let us introduce you to the talent you've never heard of, need to know, and will come to admire.
As a long-time - and rather fervent - consumer of podcasts, I decided it was time to contribute one of my own, and as a nearly 17-year veteran of the entertainment industry, I know too well how many people it takes to make the business run. But I also know how little credit is given to the majority of those people. During the Pandemic "lockdown" period, with a little more time on my hands and an even more profound respect for a myriad of professionals sidelined by Covid, the UNFAMOUS was born.
In my "real life," I am an entertainment publicist and social media executive. (Want to know what that means? Wait for that episode!) In 2018, I established my own consultancy and have been fortunate to work with prominent producers and filmmakers, agencies, independent film distributors, up-and-coming talents and more. Previously, I oversaw PR and social media for some independent film distributors and a major studio’s home entertainment distribution arm. I also spent some time in PR for the tech and start-up sector and even in the live music space. In that time, I have worked with everyone from Woody Harrelson and Chris Evans to Alicia Keys and Richard Branson.
I love to work with creatives and you can always check me out on LinkedIn!
In addition, I recently began as an adjunct instructor in social media marketing for UCLA. This is something I have always wanted to do. I have been invited to guest lecture at both UCLA and USC in the past, and it’s exciting to take this on. I am also a proud alumna of Social Media Club Los Angeles’ Board of Directors. My other passions include brunch (join those adventures here!), superheroes, Golden Girls, boy bands, and my dog, Neville.
In fact, if you have made it this far, here's a protip to stay on Neville's good side because he is smarter than all of us and will probably run for President in 2024 and win.
I would like to thank the amazing support system who made launching this podcast possible!
My "OG" mastermind collective: Chris, Karen, Tara and Vanessa; Avi Glijansky at Frequency Machine; Ryan D. Thompson; and Catilin Kleppinger, who, in her infinite wisdom, actually named this podcast. And, of course, my biggest che
